Missed-call text-back for a solar company
Run the arithmetic once and this becomes urgent. On a $21,000 average install, a company taking 40 calls a month, missing one in five and closing one in five of those loses roughly a job and a half every month. Put your own numbers into the calculator rather than trusting those.
Then add the lead cost. That missed call was often a lead you already paid $80 to $250 for. A plumber who misses a call loses a few hundred dollars. You lose a five-figure project and the acquisition cost that bought it, and the homeowner is handed to whoever picks up next.
The second failure is the proposal that goes quiet. Most installers call twice and mark the lead dead in nine days. The homeowner is not dead. They are waiting on a spouse, a tax refund, or a roof estimate, and whoever is still politely present in week six is usually the one who gets the signature.
